Michael Brooks Appointed GM for Australia and New Zealand at Warner Bros. Discovery
Michael Brooks has recently been named the General Manager for Australia and New Zealand at Warner Bros. Discovery. In his expanded role, Brooks will continue to serve as the Managing Director of Warner Bros. International Television Production Australia, while taking on additional responsibilities within the company. He will report directly to James Gibbons and Ronald Goes, the President of WBITVP.
With a tenure at the company since 2016, Brooks brings a wealth of experience to his new position. Prior to joining Warner Bros. Discovery, he held leadership roles at BBC Studios and Endemol Shine North America during his more than 10 years in the U.S.
In his expanded role, Brooks will oversee all non-theatrical businesses in Australia, including networks and streaming, content licensing and home entertainment, consumer products, and games. He will also be responsible for WBITVP Australia, while WBITVP New Zealand will continue to report to WBITVP HQ in London.
As part of recent changes within the company, Justin Emmer, the current APAC Chief Financial Officer, has announced his departure at the end of the year. James Gibbons expressed his gratitude for Emmer’s contributions and wished him success in his future endeavors.
To fill the role of SVP, CFO & COO, APAC, Nilesh Zaveri has been appointed and will join Warner Bros. Discovery on September 9th. Zaveri brings over 20 years of leadership experience in the Asia-Pacific region, having held positions at VICE Media Group, Discovery, and Fox. His expertise in financial operations and business planning will be instrumental in driving growth and efficiency across the APAC region.
With a strong global mindset and a deep understanding of industry dynamics, Zaveri is poised to be a key partner in Warner Bros. Discovery’s expansion efforts in the APAC region. His track record of success in launching and growing regional businesses makes him a valuable addition to the company.
