Netflix unveiled 27 minutes of fresh “Grand Theft Auto 6” content on Thursday at 3 p.m. ET, in partnership with Rockstar Games, ahead of the eagerly awaited game’s release in November.
The footage, as confirmed by Netflix and Rockstar, was entirely derived from in-game scenes on the PlayStation 5.
Rockstar has indicated that Netflix will have exclusive access to this content for six hours before it becomes available on YouTube and other platforms.
On Wednesday, Rockstar shared two posts on X, outlining its guidelines for fans who wish to livestream the Netflix event. They stated, âOnce Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look debuts on Netflix, creators can share their reaction content across social and video platforms.â In a follow-up, Rockstar clarified: âQuick clarification: you are free to livestream An Extended Look from 3 p.m. ET on August 27, provided you adhere to platform-specific guidance and do not simply restream or repost the unedited video in full without context or commentary.â
Netflix describes the âGTA 6â âextended lookâ event as âthe next evolution of storytelling and contentâ on their platform. They emphasized, âThis trailblazing partnership with Rockstar Games elevates games to the center of modern culture â bringing an in-depth look at one of the most anticipated releases in the history of entertainment to Netflix subscribers first.â
This event, initially announced earlier this month by Rockstar and Netflix, occurs amidst ongoing leaks of âGTA 6â gameplay.
