Dexter Morgan Returns in “Dexter: Resurrection”
Paramount+ and Showtime have unveiled the first trailer for the highly anticipated sequel series, “Dexter: Resurrection,” starring the iconic Michael C. Hall reprising his role as the blood splatter expert/serial killer, Dexter Morgan. This new series follows the events of “Dexter” and “Dexter: New Blood,” with Dexter embarking on a journey to New York City in search of his son, Harrison, to set things right after a near-fatal encounter.
In the trailer, Dexter is seen back in action shortly after being shot by his own son, Harrison (Jack Alcott). As he navigates the dark alleys of New York City, he is confronted by his past as Miami Metro’s Angel Batista (David Zayas) arrives with probing questions. The synopsis teases a gripping narrative as father and son delve deeper into their own darkness, realizing that their only way out is together.
“Dexter: Resurrection” is set to premiere with its first two episodes on July 11, followed by weekly releases. The series is executive produced and showrun by Clyde Phillips, with Scott Reynolds serving as executive producer.
“We are thrilled to have the brilliant Michael C. Hall reprise his iconic role as Dexter Morgan in Showtime’s most successful series ever,” said Paramount co-CEO Chris McCarthy.
The star-studded cast of “Dexter: Resurrection” includes Peter Dinklage, Uma Thurman, Krysten Ritter, Neil Patrick Harris, and David Dastmalchian. The original “Dexter” ensemble, including Jennifer Carpenter, David Zayas, James Remar, C.S. Lee, Luna Lauren Velez, Desmond Harrington, and Julie Benz, will also make appearances in the series.
