ANN ARBOR, Mich. — In a surprising turn of events, Kalel Mullings emerged as the hero for the Michigan Wolverines in their thrilling victory over the USC Trojans. Despite not being the top option in the running game, Mullings showcased his talent and determination in a game-defining drive that culminated in a game-winning touchdown.

Standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 233 pounds, Mullings may not have the appearance of a speedster, but his performance on the field proved otherwise. With the Wolverines struggling to move the ball, Mullings became the go-to player in a crucial moment, breaking through USC’s defense for a 63-yard gain that set up the game-winning score.

Quarterback Alex Orji and the rest of the team had full confidence in Mullings as he powered his way into the end zone to secure the 27-24 victory. This unexpected win against a ranked opponent highlighted Michigan’s ability to persevere and find success even in the face of adversity.

Throughout the game, Michigan’s offense faced challenges, failing to gain momentum and relying heavily on Mullings’ running ability. Despite the lackluster performance in the passing game, Mullings stepped up and delivered a standout performance, rushing for 159 yards on 17 carries.

Coach Sherrone Moore praised Mullings for his contributions, acknowledging his vital role in the team’s success. While Michigan’s offensive strategy may raise eyebrows with its run-heavy approach, the team’s focus on running the ball effectively has proven to be a winning formula.

The victory over USC showcased Michigan’s resilience and determination to win, even when faced with obstacles. The Wolverines may not have a polished passing game or a clear-cut quarterback solution, but their commitment to running the ball and trusting players like Mullings has yielded positive results.

Looking ahead, Michigan will need to continue to rely on its ground game and solidify its offensive approach to maintain success throughout the season. While the team’s unconventional style of play may not be sustainable in the long run, the Wolverines have shown that they have the grit and determination to compete against tough opponents.

As Michigan navigates through a challenging season, one thing is certain – they will continue to fight until the very end, relying on players like Mullings to lead the way. The victory over USC may have been improbable, but it serves as a testament to Michigan’s never-say-die attitude and their ability to find a way to win, no matter the circumstances.
