CreAsia Studio Unveils Thai Adaptation of “My Chef in Crime”
The scripted culinary-forensic mystery series, “My Chef in Crime,” created by Banijay Asia’s CreAsia Studio, is set to launch on Thailand’s TrueVisions Now streaming platform.
This eight-episode series is a collaboration between CreAsia Studio and My Shot, and is being helmed by renowned Thai producer-writer Pornmanus Rattanavich, alongside scriptwriters Nitikarn Pinmuangngarm, Rapeepimol Chaiyasena, and Punnapat Sutthiwong.
At the heart of “My Chef in Crime” is a forensic scientist who, after transitioning to a chef, finds himself entangled as the prime suspect in the suspicious death of a rival chef. In his quest to clear his name, he leverages his expertise in food chemistry and forensic science, teaming up with a courageous police officer whose own past is connected to his. Together, they navigate thrilling culinary mysteries while preparing delectable dishes.
This exciting series is slated to debut exclusively on TrueVisions Now in late 2026.
First introduced earlier this year as part of a commission for Vision+, Indonesia’s streaming platform, “My Chef in Crime” stands as the inaugural scripted format developed and produced by CreAsia.
According to Banijay Asia CEO Deepak Dhar, “CreAsia Studio is pioneering a new era of creative growth in Southeast Asia. With both scripted series like ‘My Chef in Crime’ and unscripted originals like ‘Race to Space’ rooted in Thailand, we are not just nurturing local narratives but also cultivating a cohesive regional identity for high-quality Asian content. We design each format to ignite collaboration and promote exchanges across borders, marking a significant step in our journey to position Asia as a key player in the global media sphere.”
Ongard Prapakamol, head of True Visions & Media Division at TrueVisions Group, remarked, “‘My Chef in Crime’ is an exceptional concept that expertly interweaves two of Thailand’s greatest passions — culinary arts and drama — within a compelling crime storyline.”
LevelK Launches Nordic FAST Channel RomCom TV on Samsung Smart TV
LevelK
LevelK, an international sales and aggregation firm from Denmark, is now entering the booming free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) sector with its inaugural channel, RomCom TV.
This channel is the first of four niche offerings planned by LevelK, currently accessible on Samsung Smart TV in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland.
According to LevelK, “Romantic comedies have long served as a beloved source of uplifting entertainment — providing humor, warmth, and a delightful escape. With RomCom TV, we aim to make meaningful and enjoyable content available for a wide range of viewers, whether they are families, friends, or couples looking to unwind after their day.”
RomCom TV boasts a handpicked selection of romantic comedies available around the clock, with a regularly updated lineup sourced from LevelK’s extensive film catalog.
Lars Frahm, LevelK’s head of aggregation, stated, “FAST channels offer an excellent no-cost avenue to explore new content across diverse genres any time of the day. This sector is rapidly expanding across Europe, allowing us to reach audiences who might not otherwise invest in standard TV packages or pay-per-view streaming services.”
“At LevelK, we manage thousands of titles from rights holders globally, so establishing FAST channels from these assets is a natural evolution for us,” he added.
The launch of RomCom TV signifies the first of four prospective niche FAST channels from LevelK, as they look to bring previously overlooked genres and content to fresh audiences through strategic alignment with major platforms amid the rapid growth of FAST in Europe.
RTL Hungary Acquires Talpa Studios’ ‘Most Wanted’
Talpa Studios
RTL Hungary has secured the rights to adapt the immersive reality escape competition “Most Wanted,” co-created by Talpa Studios and Signal.Stream.
The deal marks the second international acquisition for this engaging format.
Originally launched on RTL Nederland’s VOD platform Videoland, “Most Wanted” has already demonstrated its popularity, with a third season confirmed in the Netherlands, and a strong debut seen in Germany on ProSiebenSat.1’s stream Joyn.
“Most Wanted” represents Talpa Studios’ second format acquired by RTL Hungary, following the successful introduction of “The Floor.”
The show combines elements of strategy, survival, and suspense as celebrity contestants strive to evade capture while being hunted in real-time. They begin their adventure escaping from a high-security prison, with three guards pursuing them. These celebrity fugitives must remain undetected for five days without the use of modern conveniences. Stripped of phones, finances, and resources, they must find ways to eat, sleep, and navigate discreetly while dressed in bright orange prison uniforms.
Sebastian van Barneveld, Talpa Studios’ director of global distribution, remarked, “This format, which has proven successful on streaming platforms, is also well-suited for traditional TV as a high-impact promotional event.”
