The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has a long-standing tradition of selecting the child of a celebrity to play a special role in the annual Golden Globe Awards. This prestigious title, known as Miss or Mr. Golden Globes, has been a part of the awards ceremony since 1963 when Donna Douglas and Eva Six shared the honor. However, it wasn’t until 1971 that the tradition of choosing a celebrity kid for the role began, with Anne Archer being the first to take on the responsibility. Archer later went on to have a successful acting career of her own.
The role of Miss or Mr. Golden Globes, now known as the Golden Globes Ambassador since 2018, comes with certain in-show responsibilities. During the event, the ambassador assists presenters in handing out awards and escorting winners from the stage. It’s a prestigious position that has been held by many talented individuals over the years.
Unfortunately, in 2021, the ambassador program was discontinued, marking the end of an era. Despite this, we can still look back and appreciate the contributions of past Golden Globes Ambassadors. Scroll down to meet some of the standout individuals who have had the honor of holding this special title in years past.
As we reflect on the legacy of the Golden Globes Ambassadors, we can’t help but appreciate the talent and star power that these individuals have brought to the awards ceremony. While the program may no longer be active, the memories of past ambassadors will always hold a special place in the history of the Golden Globe Awards.
