Morgan Wallen seems to possess a remarkable talent for deflecting blame, as newly surfaced body cam footage from his April 2024 arrest indicates. When questioned by officers about a chair that was unceremoniously hurled from a rooftop, he professes total ignorance about the incident.

The footage sheds light on Wallen’s attempts to escape the scene at Chief’s on Broadway moments after the unfortunate chair incident occurred, which left jittery pedestrians below seeking cover. Alas, the police were quicker on their feet, blocking his path to freedom.

<p.A bodyguard accompanying Wallen claims he witnessed nothing amiss, while Wallen himself seems awfully nonchalant, allowing others to spill details about the chair's flight. He even attempts a second escape, prompting an officer to firmly place his hand on Wallen's chest, indicating that departure was not an option.

After a brief stand-off on the sidewalk, Wallen professes his desire to avoid trouble and claims he is baffled as to why he’s the focus of suspicion.

In a moment of desperation, Wallen can be seen dialing Eric Church, another prominent country artist and bar owner, claiming that officers are attempting to whisk him away to jail right where they stand.

During the call, the officer reassures Church that they are bound to investigate the matter thoroughly—celebrities, it seems, are not exempt from the law.

Ultimately, Wallen finds himself handcuffed and seated in the back of a police vehicle, repeatedly insisting that he has committed no offense. However, irony is not lost in hindsight, as he later pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment stemming from the incident.

As he rides in the back of the squad car, Wallen amusingly observes the radio and exclaims, “Oh shoot, that’s me and Thomas Rhett! Turn it up!” He gleefully begins to sing along, adding, “TR is one of the best in the game; he certainly wouldn’t be getting arrested.”

Wallen ultimately served a seven-day sentence in a DUI treatment facility, which markets itself as a modern alternative for those charged with DUI, reckless driving, and reckless endangerment in Tennessee. He is now approximately nine months into a two-year probation period.
