Nicole Beharie has been officially cast in the forthcoming Netflix series adaptation of “All the Sinners Bleed,” as reported by Variety.
Beharie joins the talented cast led by Dìrìsú, along with John Douglas Thompson, who has also been previously announced for the series. This adaptation, based on the compelling novel by S.A. Crosby, was unveiled during Netflix’s upfronts to advertisers back in May.
The official logline reveals a gripping narrative: “Haunted by his devout mother’s untimely death, the first Black Sheriff (played by Dìrìsú) in a small Bible Belt county must lead the hunt for a serial killer who has targeted his Black community for years, all while claiming to act in the name of God.”
Nicole Beharie will portray Darlene Taylor, the girlfriend of Titus Crown (Dìrìsú) in the series, a role taken from the original novel.
Currently, Beharie stars in Apple TV+ series “The Morning Show,” having joined in its third season, with the fourth season premiering on September 17. Her performance in Season 3 earned her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Beharie has previously showcased her talents in noteworthy television roles, including the Fox supernatural series “Sleepy Hollow,” along with appearances in acclaimed shows such as “Black Mirror” and “Scenes from a Marriage.” Her filmography includes standout performances in “Miss Juneteenth,” “42,” and “Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul.”
Represented by UTA and Hansen Jacobson, Beharie continues to elevate her career with her powerful performances.
Joe Robert Cole is helming the adaptation of “All the Sinners Bleed” for the screen, taking on additional responsibilities as executive producer and showrunner while also directing several episodes, including the pilot. The project is being produced by Higher Ground Productions, co-founded by the Obamas, alongside Amblin Television and Cosby.
