Motorola Edge 60 Review: Stuck in The Middle
SHARE

The Motorola Edge 60 is a smartphone that falls right in the middle of the Edge 60 Fusion and Edge 60 Pro, offering a balanced set of features and specifications. Priced at £379.99, it competes with other mid-range devices in the market. Let’s take a closer look at the design, performance, cameras, battery life, and software of the Motorola Edge 60.

Design & Build:
The Motorola Edge 60 features a unique Pantone Gibraltar Sea color with a canvas finish, giving it a premium look and feel. The phone comes with IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance, MIL-STD 810H protection, and Gorilla Glass 7i for durability. The slim design and curved edges make it comfortable to hold.

Screen & Speakers:
The Edge 60 sports a 6.67-inch pOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4500 nits. The display offers vibrant colors and sharp details, but the curved edges may affect touch responsiveness. The stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos provide immersive audio experience.

Specs & Performance:
Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, the Edge 60 offers smooth performance for everyday tasks. It comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB. However, Wi-Fi performance may be patchy at times, affecting the overall user experience.

Cameras:
The Edge 60 features a 50MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide/macro camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera for versatile photography options. The camera performance is generally good, but some images may struggle with exposure and HDR processing. The telephoto lens offers up to 3x optical zoom, but detail drops off at higher zoom levels.

Battery Life & Charging:
With a 5200mAh battery and 68W fast charging, the Edge 60 offers good battery life and quick charging times. The phone can easily last a full day with moderate usage, and the fast charging feature ensures you can quickly top up the battery when needed.

Software & Apps:
The Edge 60 runs on Android 15 with Moto AI features for added functionality. While the software experience is close to stock Android, the addition of Moto AI and pre-installed apps may not appeal to everyone. The phone promises three OS updates and four years of security updates.

Price & Availability:
The Motorola Edge 60 is priced at £379.99 and is available in the UK in the 12/512GB storage variant. It can be purchased directly from Motorola and through Amazon. While it competes with devices like the Nothing Phone (3a) and Galaxy A36 5G, there are other compelling options in the mid-range segment.

In conclusion, the Motorola Edge 60 offers a balanced mix of features and performance but faces tough competition in its price range. While it excels in design, display, and camera capabilities, there are other alternatives with better value and performance. Consider your priorities and needs before deciding to purchase the Motorola Edge 60.
