- Motorola Moto X70 Air officially unveiled in China
- Specifications released ahead of the 31 October launch
- Motorola Edge 70 could offer slight variations
Motorola has made a significant announcement regarding the Moto X70 Air, its latest entry into the ultra-slim smartphone market, which is expected to be marketed globally as the Motorola Edge 70.
The Moto X70 Air is now available for viewing on the Lenovo China website, the parent company of Motorola, in anticipation of its official launch on 31 October. The website details the phone’s specifications, some of which raise queries regarding the company’s international release strategy.
The most striking feature of the X70 Air is undoubtedly its remarkably thin design. It’s officially recorded at just 5.3mm thick and weighs merely 159g, making it slimmer and lighter than the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and the iPhone Air.
Interestingly, there seems to be a discrepancy between these new specifications and the recently advertised figures of 5.99mm thickness and 170g weight for the Motorola Edge 70, as stated in a quiz-based marketing campaign. Many assumed both devices would essentially be identical, but these differences suggest otherwise.

Specifications of the Motorola Moto X70 Air
The battery won’t be an issue, with both models equipped with 4,800mAh cells. While this capacity may seem modest, it’s significantly larger than that of the Galaxy S25 Edge (3,900mAh) and the iPhone Air (3,149mAh). Thanks to silicon-carbon technology, this impressive battery life is achievable.
The X70 Air will also support 68W charging, along with providing IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance.
The display on the Motorola Moto X70 Air features a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and an outstanding peak brightness of 4,500 nits.
Under the hood, it boasts a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, placing it at a slightly lower tier compared to its ultra-slim competitors.
Motorola is expected to release more details in the upcoming segment of its Edge 70 teaser quiz, which should shed light on the distinctions between the X70 Air and its counterpart. Currently, it appears the product may differ from initial expectations, which adds an element of excitement.
