Joyce Vance, a contributor on MSNBC and former U.S. Attorney appointed by President Obama, recently stirred controversy with her remarks regarding the ongoing violence against ICE agents. In a segment on the network, she suggested that such violent acts could be seen as justified.

Vance’s argument centers around the fact that ICE agents often wear masks, which, conveniently, overlooks the reality that these masks serve as protective gear against potential threats from radical elements on the left. This raises an intriguing question: where is the consistency in the media’s narrative on violence?

Recall the days when the liberal media was quick to label the Tea Party as a potential source of violence, despite a lack of evidence to support such claims. Now, we see a stark contrast as some factions attempt to rationalize violent actions from the left.

Here’s a glimpse of the dialogue that unfolded during the segment, as captured by NewsBusters:

ALI VELSHI: Joyce, as a prosecutor, can you elaborate on why some law enforcement agencies operate under cover? There are specific legal frameworks that govern these actions, correct?

JOYCE VANCE: Absolutely. There are stringent legal guidelines that dictate the operations of undercover agents. However, I’ve never witnessed federal agents resorting to masks to hide their identities while terrorizing civilians. This behavior is both abnormal and unacceptable, signaling a clear danger. We are no longer in a phase where we can merely identify warning signs; issues are manifesting right now.

Moreover, when agents conceal their identities, it creates a perilous situation. Civilians might feel threatened and could react defensively, thinking they are witnessing an abduction. The notion that this masking is for the protection of law enforcement is simply absurd and needs to be dismissed.

Ultimately, the push from certain leftist factions to see ICE agents unmasked seems to be a strategic move, potentially aimed at enabling attacks against them and, by extension, their families. This raises a critical question: what is the true motive behind these calls for transparency?
