MSNBC host Ali Velshi criticized conservatives for blaming diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives for the recent plane crash in Washington, D.C. Velshi pointed out that there were more plane crashes before the implementation of DEI policies and emphasized that safety measures and technology have improved over time. He argued that blaming DEI for plane crashes is misguided and that investigating crashes properly is essential.

Velshi also highlighted the progress made in diversifying the federal workforce and the aviation industry, noting that diversity has not caused plane crashes. He, along with legal analyst Melissa Murray and African American studies professor Eddie Glaude Jr., criticized conservatives for attacking DEI initiatives, calling it a racist, sexist, and masculinist agenda aimed at maintaining white and male dominance.

Glaude emphasized the importance of understanding the motivations behind the attacks on DEI and warned against regressing on racial and gender equality. Overall, the group condemned the attempts to dismantle DEI programs and stressed the importance of embracing diversity and inclusion for a more equitable society. “`html
