A different juvenile suspect has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy at Rotella Park, announced the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office in a press release on Friday.
The charges against the teenager initially arrested for first-degree murder have been amended due to new evidence that emerged after the initial filing decision was made, as stated in the news release by officials.
Now, the first teenager is facing charges of possession of a handgun by a juvenile, classified as a misdemeanor.
The new juvenile suspect is charged with first-degree murder, six counts of first-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, and possession of a handgun by a juvenile.
Due to their status as juveniles, the DA’s office is unable to disclose further details about the case or the suspects, according to the release.
