A 25-year-old murder suspect from Vermont, evading law enforcement, was attempting to hurry back to incarceration after being pulled over for excessive speed in northern New York early on Wednesday, according to state troopers.
Terrene Biggs, wanted for allegedly shooting 26-year-old Austin Rodrigues in Rutland back in April, was ticketed for speeding on Interstate 90 near upstate Portland shortly after 2:30 a.m.
Quick-thinking troopers pursued the 2024 Nissan Versa and swiftly discovered that Biggs was indeed on law enforcement’s radar.
As reported by Burlington’s WPTZ-TV News, Biggs had been evading authorities following the shooting of Rodrigues at 3 a.m. on April 22, which reportedly stemmed from a confrontation with the victim.
