SAN DIEGO — A tragic incident unfolded early Thursday as a private jet carrying a music talent agent and five others crashed into a San Diego neighborhood after hitting a power line in foggy weather. The impact resulted in the loss of multiple lives on board the flight.
The devastating crash caused a home to catch fire, leading to explosions and the ignition of several vehicles in the neighborhood. Residents in the area, located in U.S. Navy-owned housing, were startled awake by the loud crash and fire, witnessing a scene of chaos and destruction.
San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl described the horrific scene, stating, “I can’t quite put words to describe what the scene looks like, but with the jet fuel going down the street, and everything on fire all at once, it was pretty horrific to see.”
Although no residents in the neighborhood lost their lives, eight individuals were hospitalized for smoke inhalation and non-life-threatening injuries. Among the casualties were Dave Shapiro, co-founder of Sound Talent Group, and two employees, who were on board the ill-fated flight.
The tragic event has left the music agency devastated, with the agency expressing condolences to the families affected by the tragedy.
