Toho Celebrates 10th Anniversary of “My Hero Academia The Animation”
Toho has announced exciting plans to celebrate the 10th anniversary of “My Hero Academia The Animation,” including a new episode, global concert tour, and commemorative visual unveiled at Jump Festa.
The milestone anniversary comes as the popular anime adaptation of Kohei Horikoshi’s manga reaches a significant point in its history. With the final episode airing on Dec. 13, the series has spanned eight seasons and 170 episodes over the past decade since its premiere in April 2016.
A brand-new episode titled “More” is set to premiere on May 2, 2026, exclusively on Crunchyroll worldwide outside Asia. The episode will adapt content from the manga’s 431st chapter, offering fans a glimpse into the lives of protagonist Deku and his classmates eight years after graduation from U.A. High School, expanding on the original anime’s conclusion.
“My Hero Academia” follows Izuku Midoriya, a Quirkless boy in a world where most people have superpowers, as he trains to become a professional hero at U.A. High School. The series showcases Midoriya and his classmates as they develop their abilities and navigate the challenges of hero society.
“We are incredibly proud to celebrate ten years of ‘My Hero Academia’ with fans around the world,” said a Toho spokesperson. “This milestone represents a decade of unforgettable stories, heroic characters, and epic battles, as well as the incredible support and passion of our global audience.”
Toho also announced “My Hero Academia in Concert,” a world tour featuring composer Yuki Hayashi’s music accompanied by scenes from the anime. The tour will kick off on May 30, 2026, at Pacifico Yokohama before heading to international locations.
During Jump Festa, Toho revealed the official 10th anniversary logo and teaser visual. The commemorative visual, created by Bones Films and illustrated by character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi, showcases 10 versions of Deku throughout his journey as a hero.
The anniversary celebrations come after a successful year for the franchise, with Horikoshi’s manga reaching 100 million copies sold worldwide and concluding its serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in August. Alongside the television series, the anime adaptation has also produced four feature films.
The official anniversary festivities will commence on April 3, 2026, marking a decade since the anime’s debut. Toho has promised additional projects, collaborations, and events to be unveiled throughout the year, building on today’s exciting announcements.
