The Epic Conclusion of “My Hero Academia”: Deku vs. Shigaraki

The stage is set for the ultimate showdown between good and evil as the beloved superhero anime “My Hero Academia” gears up for its final season. Revealed at the AnimeJapan 2025 expo in Tokyo, Toho Co., Ltd. unveiled a teaser trailer and key art for the eighth and last season, promising an epic battle between protagonist Deku and the villainous Shigaraki.

“My Hero Academia” takes place in a world where the majority of the population possesses superhuman abilities called Quirks. The series follows Izuku Midoriya and his classmates at U.A. High School as they train to become professional heroes, protecting society from villains who misuse their powers.

The final season of “My Hero Academia” is set to premiere globally this October, with Crunchyroll securing streaming rights outside of Asia. Fans can look forward to simulcast episodes, available on the same day as their Japanese release.

Director Naomi Nakayama returns to helm the series, following her work on the seventh season in 2024. The anime adaptation of Kohei Horikoshi’s popular manga concluded its serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump last August.

Series composition is handled by Yosuke Kuroda, known for his work on “Trigun.” Animation production remains with studio Bones Film, renowned for titles like “Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood” and “Mob Psycho 100.”

The talented production team includes chief director Kenji Nagasaki, character designers Yoshihiko Umakoshi and Hitomi Odashima, and composer Yuki Hayashi. Together, they bring the world of “My Hero Academia” to life with their creative vision.
