RiffTrax, the entertainment and live event company founded by the stars of “Mystery Science Theater 3000,” has recently announced a distribution deal with indie streamer Nebula. This partnership will bring RiffTrax’s existing content as well as new originals to the platform, which is majority owned by a collective of Nebula creators.

Starting on October 5, RiffTrax will debut its weekly “Saturday Cinema” series on Nebula, kicking off with the release of five shorts featuring their signature commentary. The first release will be a version of “Night of the Living Dead” with classic RiffTrax-style humor added in.

Founded in 2006 by “Mystery Science Theater 3000” alums Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett, RiffTrax is known for producing content with witty commentary for films across various genres. With a library of over 1,000 titles, RiffTrax has also created primetime television specials, apps, and even a game titled “RiffTrax: The Game” available on multiple platforms.

Nebula CEO Dave Wiskus expressed his excitement about the collaboration, praising the RiffTrax team as pioneers in comedy and digital entertainment. RiffTrax president and head writer Nelson also shared his enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the alignment between RiffTrax’s humor and Nebula’s creator-driven platform.

As an independent, artist-owned company for nearly two decades, RiffTrax is looking forward to introducing their unique brand of humor to a wider audience through Nebula. The collaboration opens up opportunities for viewers to enjoy RiffTrax’s comedic take on cult classics like “Galaxy Invader” and “Plan 9 From Outer Space.”

Overall, the partnership between RiffTrax and Nebula promises to bring laughter and entertainment to audiences through a blend of clever commentary and beloved films. Stay tuned for more hilarious content from RiffTrax on Nebula in the coming weeks.
