Savannah Guthrie’s Mom’s Alleged Kidnappers Demand Ransom in Bitcoin

Nancy Guthrie’s purported kidnappers have sent a ransom note to TMZ claiming that the 84-year-old TV host’s mom is “safe but scared” and is aware of the chilling demands being made for her return. The note, received two days after Guthrie’s mom was reported missing, demands millions in bitcoin to avoid “consequential” repercussions.

TMZ boss Harvey Levin revealed to Fox News’ Sean Hannity that the note stated Nancy Guthrie knows the demand and that the kidnappers will not negotiate further. The FBI and authorities are on high alert as the clock ticks, trying to secure her safe return.

The note included insider details about the suspected abduction, mentioning Guthrie’s Apple Watch and a damaged floodlight at her home. Details not yet made public were disclosed in the note, leading to concerns about its legitimacy.

Authorities are taking the note seriously, along with others sent to media outlets, although it’s unclear if all notes contain identical information. The FBI chief in Phoenix mentioned deadlines for ransom payment in some notes, with specific details that only the abductor would know.

Guthrie’s family released emotional messages pleading for her safe return, expressing their readiness to cooperate but seeking proof of her well-being. Investigators have not identified any suspects or persons of interest in the case.

Sheriff Chris Nanos stated that Guthrie was last seen Saturday night after being dropped off at her home by family members. The doorbell camera was disconnected hours later, followed by the pacemaker app disconnecting from her phone in the early hours of Sunday.
