Greg Biffle Dies in Tragic Plane Crash
Greg Biffle, a former NASCAR driver, tragically lost his life in a plane crash along with his family. The 55-year-old was traveling with his wife, Cristina Grossu, and their children, Ryder and Emma, to Sarasota, Florida when their Cessna C550 private jet crashed on the runway at Statesville Regional Airport, located about 45 miles north of Charlotte, early Thursday morning.
Emergency crews responded to the scene where flames engulfed the aircraft. Despite their efforts, the crash proved to be fatal for Biffle and his family.
Garrett Mitchell, a close friend of Biffle, took to Facebook to confirm the heartbreaking news. In a post on his profile, he wrote, “Unfortunately, I can confirm Greg Biffle, his wife Cristina, and son Ryder were on that plane… because they were on their way to spend the afternoon with us. We are devastated. I’m so sorry to share this.”
