Jessica Capshaw Joins Cast of “9-1-1: Nashville” Spinoff
Jessica Capshaw has been announced as the newest addition to the cast of the upcoming ABC series, “9-1-1: Nashville.” The spinoff, set to debut in the 2025-2026 broadcast season, will see Capshaw starring alongside Chris O’Donnell. Plot details for the show are being kept under wraps, but it will focus on first responders in the city of Nashville, Tennessee.
Capshaw, known for her role as Dr. Arizona Robbins on ABC’s hit medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy,” will be returning to the network with this new project. She previously appeared on “Grey’s Anatomy” from Season 5-14 and made a guest appearance in Season 20. Capshaw also starred in the ABC legal drama “The Practice” and has credits in the Hulu series “Tell Me Lies” and the Netflix film “Holidate.”
The actress is represented by CAA and Gang Tyre. “9-1-1: Nashville” is the latest addition to the expanding “9-1-1” franchise, following the success of “9-1-1: Lone Star” on Fox. Created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear, the original “9-1-1” series premiered on Fox in 2018 before moving to ABC for its seventh season in 2024.
“9-1-1: Nashville” is being produced by Murphy, Minear, and Rashad Raisani, with executive producers including Chris O’Donnell, Falchuk, and “9-1-1” star Angela Bassett. The series is under the studio 20th Television, where Ryan Murphy has an overall deal.
