By the President of the United States of America
A Proclamation

America’s children represent not just the future of our families, but also the guardians of our liberty and the embodiment of our national aspirations. This National Child Abuse Prevention Month, we reaffirm our commitment to empower every child across the nation to lead a life filled with dignity and love. We also pledge to swiftly bring to justice every abuser, predator, and malevolent individual who jeopardizes the health and safety of our youth.

As a society, we bear the profound responsibility of protecting our most vulnerable citizens, particularly children who are especially susceptible to trauma and abuse. My Administration acknowledges that the strongest defense against child abuse is a stable and loving family environment, underscoring the irreplaceable role of caring parents. Consequently, I am dedicated to fortifying our families and empowering our Nation’s children to pursue lives of happiness, health, and the success they rightfully deserve. I urge every American to take proactive steps to prevent child abuse and neglect before it occurs. In doing so, we can mitigate the risks of depression, suicide, substance abuse, and developmental challenges among our youth.

Regrettably, one of the most pervasive forms of child abuse threatening our society today is the alarming rise of gender ideology. Advocates of this ideology are, in a deeply troubling manner, promoting the false narrative that children are trapped in the wrong bodies, suggesting that true happiness can only be found through drastic measures such as hormone therapy, puberty blockers, and surgical alterations. These misguided beliefs are not only robbing our children of their joy and well-being but also inflicting profound distress on families. As I expressed during my recent Joint Address to Congress, my message to every American child is unequivocal: you are perfect just as you are, as intended by God.

As President, I took decisive action by signing Executive Order 14187, which bans public schools from indoctrinating our children with transgender ideology while also halting taxpayer funding for any institution that engages in the harmful surgical alteration of our youth. Additionally, I have implemented historic measures to secure our southern border and combat child trafficking, while diligently working to restore the health and vitality of our young population.

This National Child Abuse Prevention Month, we commit to eradicating the horrors of child abuse in all its manifestations. We affirm that every individual who perpetrates violence against our children will face the full force of the law. Most importantly, we dedicate ourselves to equipping our children with the resources necessary to embrace the gift of life that God has bestowed upon them, ensuring they carry the torch of American Liberty into future generations.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, in accordance with the authority granted to me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim April 2025 as National Child Abuse Prevention Month. I call upon all Americans to invest in the well-being of our Nation’s children, to be vigilant regarding their safety and welfare, and to support initiatives that promote their psychological, physical, and emotional development.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this
third day of April, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-five, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-ninth.
