BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

A PROCLAMATION

In celebration of National Ocean Month, my Administration acknowledges the indispensable role that our oceans have played in shaping the American narrative. We are committed to utilizing their resources, safeguarding their grandeur, and leveraging their strength to protect American interests and sustain our way of life.

As your President, I am resolutely dedicated to reinstating America’s supremacy at sea—encompassing trade, military preparedness, and resource management. Therefore, on my very first day in office, I triumphantly rebranded the world’s largest gulf as the Gulf of America, signifying its critical importance as an extension of the Atlantic Ocean and its integral part in our economy, heritage, and national identity.

To further bolster American leadership on the high seas, I enacted an Executive Order aimed at rejuvenating our nation’s supremacy in offshore critical minerals and resources. Daily, we are swiftly enhancing our domestic capabilities for exploring, producing, and processing essential minerals from the ocean floor—resources vital for our economic and strategic edge. In April, I proclaimed the Pacific Remote Islands National Monument open for commercial fishing. As part of my America First strategy, I also took decisive steps to revive American seafood competitiveness, eliminate trade practices detrimental to American fishermen, and amplify domestic seafood production and exports.

Under my stewardship, we are embarking on a fresh chapter of American liberty, prosperity, and strength—both within our borders and across our oceans.

This National Ocean Month, my Administration reaffirms its commitment to ushering in a vibrant new era—both domestically and at sea—by utilizing our oceans and their bountiful resources to empower our citizens, protect our homeland, and preserve our cherished American sovereignty for future generations.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, by the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2025 as National Ocean Month. I urge all Americans to take a moment this month to appreciate the oceans, not only for their significance to our security, environment, and economy but also as a source of joy and recreation.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this
sixth day of June, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-five, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-ninth.

                               DONALD J. TRUMP
