Authorities reported that numerous protesters associated with “Rabbis for Ceasefire” were detained after obstructing traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge Thursday afternoon.

According to sources, at least 56 participants were arrested during the Yom Kippur event, organized by Rabbis for Ceasefire—an assembly of Rabbis and Rabbinical students advocating for Palestine and opposing Israel’s military actions in Gaza.

Footage obtained by The Post showed numerous activists obstructing traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge, sitting in front of a banner that read “not another bomb.”

New York Police Department officers quickly moved in to detain several demonstrators adorned with keffiyehs, while many among them clapped and chanted in Hebrew as the police issued audio warnings of impending disorderly conduct charges.

The detained protesters did not appear to resist as they were handcuffed, with many continuing to sing throughout the process.

The protest commenced around 3:30 p.m. at Brooklyn Borough Hall, where participants engaged in the Yizkor ritual, a memorial prayer conducted during Jewish holidays, including Yom Kippur, as noted in social media updates from the event organizers.
