Netflix Introduces Season Download Feature for iOS Users
Exciting news for Apple device owners as Netflix has finally launched a new feature that allows iOS users to download an entire season of a show with just one tap. Previously available on Android, this feature eliminates the need for Apple users to download episodes one by one. The long-awaited Season Download feature was officially announced by Netflix on January 30, 2025, making it accessible through the iPhone and iPad apps.
According to a Netflix representative speaking to Variety, the introduction of the Season Download feature aims to address the inconvenience of downloading episodes individually, providing a seamless viewing experience for iOS members.
With this new feature, iPhone and iPad users can now easily download entire seasons of both original Netflix productions and licensed series. Users on the Standard with Ads plan can download up to 15 series per month, while those on ad-free subscription tiers (Standard or Premium) can enjoy the flexibility of downloading up to 100 series on their device.
The Season Download button can be found next to the Share option on a show’s display page. Simply select the series you wish to watch, locate the button, and initiate the download with a single tap.
Netflix also shared the top 5 most downloaded shows by Android users, including popular titles like Squid Game Season 1, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, and One Piece. This feature enhancement comes at a time when Netflix continues to experience growth, boasting over 300 million global subscribers with nearly 19 million new additions in 2024.
