Netflix continues to impress with its wide range of content, including both original shows and licensed third-party content. The first half of 2024 saw a massive data dump from Netflix, revealing the most-viewed content on the streaming platform.

Unsurprisingly, children’s content remains a hit on Netflix, with popular shows like “CoComelon” and “Peppa Pig” dominating the rankings. “CoComelon” from Moonbug Entertainment pulled in an impressive 124.5 million views, while “Peppa Pig” garnered 117.4 million views over six seasons. Additionally, “Young Sheldon” and “Suits” also performed well, with 106 million and 81.2 million views respectively.

Netflix’s ability to bring back classic shows like “Breaking Bad” and “The Walking Dead” highlights its influence in the streaming world. Shows like “Dexter” and “Sex and the City” also ranked highly in Netflix’s report, showcasing the platform’s diverse content offerings.

On the movie side, animated family films proved to be a hit, with titles like “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” “Minions,” and “The Boss Baby” attracting millions of views. It’s worth noting that Netflix may not have worldwide licensing rights for all content, leading to variations in availability across different regions.

Netflix’s calculation of views by dividing total hours viewed by runtime provides valuable insights into the popularity of licensed content on the platform. The list of most-watched licensed content on Netflix for the first half of 2024 includes a mix of TV shows and movies, showcasing the platform’s ability to cater to a wide audience.

Overall, Netflix’s strategic approach to licensing third-party content alongside its original offerings continues to attract viewers and solidify its position as a leading streaming platform. With a diverse library of content, Netflix remains a go-to destination for entertainment for audiences of all ages.
