Among the highlights is the series “Love Never Lies: South Africa,” a reality show that follows six couples as they put their trust to the test with lie detectors. The show is set to premiere on Nov. 29.

In addition to the series, Netflix also announced several films that are set to debut in the coming months. “Happiness Is” is the latest installment in a romantic comedy franchise that follows a group of friends navigating personal challenges, scheduled to premiere on Oct. 18. “Umjolo” is a four-part anthology series, with the first film titled “Umjolo: The Gone Girl” releasing on Nov. 8. The story revolves around a young woman whose engagement takes an unexpected turn. Lastly, “Disaster Holiday” is a comedy that follows a workaholic trying to prove his parenting skills during a family vacation, set to release on Dec. 13.

Ben Amadasun, Netflix’s VP of content for Middle East and Africa, expressed excitement about strengthening relationships with production partners in South Africa. He highlighted the importance of bringing diverse and authentic local stories by local storytellers to both local and global audiences. Amadasun emphasized the popularity of South African stories not only within the country but also internationally, resonating with audiences in various countries around the world.
