Meghan Buchanan faced challenges early on when her second-grade teacher shamed her for struggling with spelling and called her “stupid” in front of the class. Despite this, she overcame her dyslexia to become a successful aerospace engineer and accomplished mountaineer. Her journey of resilience and determination is encapsulated in her trademarked message, GGRIT – gratitude, growth, resilience, integrity, and tenacity.

Presently residing near Vail in Edwards, Buchanan has summited Mount Everest and aims to complete the Explorer’s Grand Slam by reaching the North Pole. Her love for the outdoors, instilled by her father during hikes in Colorado, served as her therapy and confidence builder.

Diagnosed with dyslexia at a young age, Buchanan’s mother encouraged her to work harder and pursue her dreams. Despite facing challenges and hiding her neurodivergent identity during her career as an aerospace engineer, Buchanan eventually embraced her journey and became an advocate for neurodiversity.

Her resilience was further tested when she suffered a severe leg injury while skiing, but she refused to accept a life with limitations. Pushing through complications and advocating for herself, Buchanan recovered and continued her passion for mountaineering, completing challenging climbs like Kilimanjaro and Aconcagua.

Through her experiences, Buchanan learned the power of GGRIT – a mindset of gratitude, growth, resilience, integrity, and tenacity. She emphasizes the importance of making choices that lead to personal growth and empowerment, inspiring others to rise above challenges and embrace their true selves.
