The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has made it abundantly clear that the political arena does not beckon her—at least not yet. During an interview on The Jamie Kern Lima Show, Markle was posed the question of whether she harbors any political ambitions following a decade of advocacy for progressive causes alongside her husband, Prince Harry.
“Would you ever run for office?” inquired Jamie Kern Lima, the CEO of IT Cosmetics.
Markle responded with a laugh, “No, never.” However, in a moment of playful uncertainty, she added, “Oh, God. I mean, you could say, ‘Never say never.’ No, I’m not interested in that. No.”
On the topic of writing, Markle was asked about the possibility of penning another book after her 2021 children’s book, The Bench.
“I think people are curious if I’m going to write a memoir,” she noted. “I’ve got a lot more life to live before I’m there.”
Markle expressed her current passion for “working on everything in this space of hospitality, and home, and entertaining, and food, and those sort of tips,” hinting that a project in that realm could be “really fun.”
Meanwhile, Markle faces allegations of plagiarism, as a British children’s author claims that her previously canceled Netflix animated series, Pearl, bears striking similarities to her own work.
The couple’s popularity has plummeted on both sides of the Atlantic, largely attributed to their self-centered public persona and their criticisms of the Royal Family. Their allegations have included accusations of racism against the family and framing the monarchy as an outdated institution.
There were even rumors that former President Trump considered deporting Prince Harry upon taking office, following revelations that Harry had allegedly misrepresented his drug use on his visa application. However, Trump ultimately dismissed the notion, stating, “I don’t want to do that. I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”
