In a striking display of what some are calling “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-MI) has proposed an ambitious, albeit controversial, strategy that has captured the attention of the Trump administration.
On Monday, after returning to Washington, D.C. from yet another lengthy congressional recess, the Congressman introduced a staggering SEVEN articles of impeachment against former President Trump. The impetus? Trump’s recent decision to deport an alleged MS-13 gang member who also faces domestic violence accusations.
“Trump has already inflicted significant harm on our democracy,” Thanedar lamented. “But when he openly disregards a unanimous 9-0 ruling from the Supreme Court, that’s the tipping point.”
“The court determined that Kilmar Garcia, who was wrongfully deported, must return and receive due process,” he added. “Trump turned a blind eye to this ruling, flouting the Constitution and the very checks and balances that uphold our democratic system.”
Thanedar proceeded to outline his seven articles of impeachment, each accompanied by what many might consider rather exaggerated justifications:
• Obstruction of justice and abuse of executive power: “By denying due process through unlawful deportations, Trump has ignored court orders.”
• Taking away Congress’s power of the purse: “He has dismantled agencies and frozen funds without Congressional approval.”
• Abuse of trade powers and international aggression: “His tariffs and military threats against allies have caused significant damage.”
• Violation of First Amendment rights: “He has sought retribution against journalists and critics exercising their free speech rights.”
• Creation of an unlawful office: “Establishing the so-called Department of Government Efficiency has given Elon Musk unconstitutional control over governmental operations and personal data.”
• Bribery and corruption: “Trump has dismissed criminal cases and solicited foreign payments, compromising legal integrity for personal gain.”
• Tyrannical overreach: “Ultimately, he aims to concentrate power and erode the constitutional limits of the presidency. In America, we have presidents, not monarchs.”
“This is not merely misconduct; it is impeachable misconduct. What we are witnessing is not leadership, but tyranny,” Thanedar asserted.

Thanedar further argued that accountability hinges on the House taking action against Trump. “If we allow this (Trump’s conduct) to go unchecked, we are essentially endorsing the idea that the President is above the law,” he declared. “I refuse to remain silent, and I urge my colleagues to join me.”
“Enough is enough. Donald Trump must be impeached.”
In a moment of levity amidst the serious nature of impeachment, Steven Cheung, the White House Director of Communications, responded humorously to Thanedar’s audacious move by sharing a classic Conor McGregor gif that resonated with many conservatives.

As our TGP readers are aware, this is not the first impeachment attempt against Trump. Rep. Al Green (D-TX) previously initiated proceedings back in February, fueled by Trump’s controversial remarks during a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the Gaza Strip.
“I rise today to announce that the movement to impeach the President has begun!” Green proclaimed fervently. “I will bring articles of impeachment against the president for both proposed and actual dastardly deeds!”

It only took them 2 weeks.
