7 For All Mankind Taps Nicola Brognano as Creative Director
Exciting news for fashion enthusiasts as Nicola Brognano, renowned for his Y2K-inspired designs at Blumarine, takes on the role of creative director at premium denim label 7 For All Mankind. The brand made the official announcement today, marking a new chapter for the iconic denim brand.
Brognano is set to make his debut at New York Fashion Week in February 2026, showcasing his vision for the brand on the runway for the first time. This move solidifies 7 For All Mankind’s intention to elevate its status in the fashion industry with a seasoned designer at the helm.
Expressing his excitement for this new role, Brognano stated, “As I step into this exciting and inspiring brand, my goal is to create collections and products that honor the 7 For All Mankind DNA, while infusing a confident ease and an of-the-moment attitude — one that complements the brand’s heritage in denim.”
Founded in Los Angeles in 2000, 7 For All Mankind played a pivotal role in popularizing premium denim as a fashion staple, offering styles that ranged between $200 and $300. The brand, affectionately known as “sevens”, gained significant cultural relevance in the early 2000s, with celebrities like Selena Gomez and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, sporting its iconic Y2K aesthetic.
Following his successful tenure at Blumarine, characterized by low-rise denim and the signature butterfly top, Brognano is well-positioned to draw inspiration from 7 For All Mankind’s Y2K roots while modernizing it for today’s fashion-forward consumers. Despite taking a break from his eponymous label, Brognano has continued to make waves in the industry, recently unveiling a capsule collection in collaboration with Shanghai-based retail platform Envision.
While 7 For All Mankind enjoyed significant success in the 2000s, the brand has faced commercial challenges over its 25-year history, changing hands multiple times. After being acquired by VF Corp in 2007 and subsequently sold to Delta Galil Industries in 2016, 7 For All Mankind is now poised for a fresh start under the creative direction of Nicola Brognano.
