Disney+ has recently announced that the Korean crime thriller “Nine Puzzles” has quickly become the platform’s most-watched Korean title globally in 2025, just nine days after its May 21 release. The series follows the story of Yoon Ena, played by Kim Dami, a high school student who stumbles upon her uncle’s body and a mysterious puzzle piece, leading her to become the prime suspect. Fast forward a decade later, now a criminal profiler, she gets entangled in a new series of murders connected by similar puzzle pieces. The show also stars Son Sukku as Detective Kim Hansaem, with Kim Sungkyun and Hyun Bongsik in supporting roles. Directed by Yoon Jongbin and written by Lee Eunmi, “Nine Puzzles” has captured the attention of viewers worldwide.

Joining Disney+’s expanding Korean lineup, “Nine Puzzles” is accompanied by titles like “Unmasked” and “Hyper Knife,” with upcoming shows including the treasure-hunting series “Low Life” starring Ryu Seungryong and the international conspiracy thriller “Tempest” featuring Gang Dongwon and John Cho.

In another exciting development, India’s Yash Raj Films has unveiled the teaser for “Saiyaara,” a romantic drama directed by Mohit Suri. The film introduces Ahaan Panday as a Bollywood hero opposite Aneet Padda, known for her breakout role in “Big Girls Don’t Cry.” Produced by YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani, “Saiyaara” promises to bring together the iconic production house’s legacy of romantic classics with Suri’s expertise in crafting heartfelt love stories. Scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on July 18, “Saiyaara” is set to enchant audiences with its captivating tale of love and longing.

In a nod to cinematic history, Film Heritage Foundation is set to commemorate legendary Indian filmmaker Raj Khosla’s 100th birth anniversary with “Raj Khosla 100 – Bambai Ka Babu,” a day-long retrospective at Mumbai’s Regal Cinema on May 31. The event will feature screenings of restored classics like “C.I.D.” (1956), “Bambai Ka Babu” (1960), and “Mera Gaon Mera Desh” (1971), with a panel discussion including veteran actor Asha Parekh, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, and biographer Amborish Roychoudhury. Described as the Howard Hawks of Indian cinema, Raj Khosla’s genre versatility will be celebrated in this special event, highlighting his contribution to Indian cinema over three decades.

Contestants will compete in physical and psychological challenges while trying to identify the secretly chosen “traitors” among them, making for a thrilling and dramatic viewing experience. Produced in collaboration with All3Media International and BBC Studios India Productions, “The Traitors” promises to take Indian reality TV to new heights with its unique format and intense gameplay.
