A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded in New Jersey as a 4-month-old infant lost his life after being left in a hot car for an extended period. The father, Moshe Ehrlich, has been charged in connection with the child’s death.

Authorities have not disclosed the exact duration the infant was left unattended in Ehrlich’s Toyota minivan in Lakewood, where temperatures soared to 63 degrees on that fateful day. Images from the scene show the parked van exposed to direct sunlight, adding to the severity of the situation.

The distressing incident came to light when a 911 call reported an unresponsive child around 1:45 p.m., prompting police officers to rush to a residential area near Fifth Street. Hatzolah Medical Services were already on the scene attempting to save the infant, who was ultimately rushed to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus but tragically could not be revived.

Following investigations, it was determined that the child had been left alone in the vehicle for an extended period, leading to Ehrlich’s arrest on charges of child endangerment. Despite surrendering to authorities, he was later released by a judge.

The close-knit community was left in shock by the heartbreaking incident, with local news outlets covering the devastating news. The family has chosen to remain private during this difficult time, declining to comment on the tragedy. The identity of the infant has not been disclosed by investigators.

As the community mourns the loss of the young life, this heartbreaking incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of leaving children unattended in vehicles. May this tragic event urge everyone to be vigilant and prioritize the safety and well-being of our little ones at all times.
