Hiromu Takahashi, a major name in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) for over 15 years, has officially announced his departure from the company. Takahashi, known for his time with Los Ingobernables de Japon, will be finishing up in a little over a week, with his final appearance scheduled for the New Beginning in Osaka on February 11th.

During his time with NJPW, Takahashi dominated the Junior division and won the prestigious “Best of Super Juniors” tournament three times in a row between 2020 and 2022. The IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship was a defining title in his career, showcasing his talent and skill in the ring.

With Takahashi’s departure, it marks the end of an era for NJPW as they look towards building on the stars of tomorrow. The company has already seen the likes of Kazuchika Okada and Hiroshi Tanahashi step back, paving the way for new talent to rise to the top.

Speculation is rife about Takahashi’s future, with many believing he could be headed to America, possibly joining a promotion like AEW or WWE. Another NJPW star, EVIL, is also rumored to be WWE-bound after his success as a former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.

As NJPW prepares for this transitional period, fans can expect to see a shift in the company’s direction as they focus on developing new talent and creating new opportunities for the next generation of wrestlers. It will be interesting to see where Takahashi and other departing stars land next, as the landscape of professional wrestling continues to evolve.

Overall, Takahashi’s departure signals a new chapter for NJPW, with the company looking towards the future and building on the legacy of its past stars. Fans can only wait and see what the future holds for both Takahashi and NJPW as they navigate this period of change in the world of professional wrestling.
