Democratic Dissonance: The Arrest of Two Judges Sparks Outrage
This week, the political landscape has erupted in a frenzy among Democrats following the arrest of two activist judges. A casual scroll through Twitter/X reveals a barrage of leftist responses, ranging from disbelief to outright panic.
It appears that the Democratic Party has conveniently overlooked its own proclamations made over the past five years—that the mantra of “NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW” should apply universally. Such statements were often echoed with fervor during discussions of prosecuting former President Trump.
However, the public memory of these assertions remains intact, and the tables have turned, as party members now face their own words being thrown back at them.
FOX News reports:
Arrest of Wisconsin Judge Criticized by Democrats Who Championed ‘No One Is Above the Law’
Several Democrats who have long claimed that “no one is above the law” in relation to President Donald Trump’s legal troubles are now expressing alarm over the arrest of Wisconsin Judge Hannah Dugan. They warn that such actions could jeopardize the rule of law.
“This is not normal,” tweeted Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), reacting to Dugan’s arrest by the FBI on obstruction charges for allegedly concealing an indicted Mexican migrant from ICE agents. Klobuchar characterized the arrest as a drastic action that poses a serious threat to the rule of law, labeling it a “grave step” that undermines the essential checks and balances in our system.
During Trump’s impeachment proceedings in 2019, Klobuchar remarked that his first impeachment represented a “somber day for our country.” She emphasized, “In America, no one is above the law, and the American people deserve to hear evidence and witness testimony during a full and fair trial in the Senate. If the president has any facts to present in his defense to the articles of impeachment, we should hear them.”
And then—whoops!

When Trump was arrested they said that nobody is above the law. Now when it’s a judge being arrested for breaking the law, they say you can’t do that because it goes against the norms.
So many frauds out there, none bigger than Andrew Weissmann. pic.twitter.com/wJGAc3OJ0d

The Democratic response has been marked by a remarkable case of collective amnesia, as they act as if none of this history matters. It’s a fascinating spectacle, to say the least.
