Liza Laserow Berglund: A Passionate Journey into Textiles with Nordic Knots
Liza Laserow Berglund, a self-proclaimed material enthusiast, is one of the creative forces behind the celebrated Swedish textile brand Nordic Knots. Established in 2016 alongside her husband, Fabian, and his brother, Felix, the brand has quickly earned acclaim for its premium quality rugs and more recently, its exquisite collection of curtains.
As the brand approaches its tenth anniversary, it marks a significant milestone with the launch of Nordic Knots Home—a comprehensive array of textiles specifically designed for home interiors. “We felt that it was the perfect moment for us to create a complete room experience with our ideal textiles, essentially a ‘uniform’ for a room,” Laserow Berglund shared with Vogue during a conversation from Stockholm. This new range places a strong emphasis on the bedroom and features an enticing selection of headboards, bed linens, cushions, throws, and bedspreads.

The concept of a room’s ‘uniform’ is reminiscent of Liza’s personal style and how she curates her living spaces. “I typically dress our bedrooms in a single color,” she explains, noting that this method provides a beautiful canvas for various layers to shine. “I also stick to a black-and-white palette for my clothing, and then I accessorize with items like jewelry or a cozy sweater. It’s a similar philosophy for bedroom styling—create a unified color scheme and then introduce layers with accent pillows or selected woods for furniture to impart a distinctive character to the room.”
At the core of Laserow Berglund’s designs—and indeed, the Nordic Knots brand—is a staunch commitment to quality. “During my time in New York, I would spend Sundays exploring designer boutiques on Madison Avenue, feeling the different textures,” she recalls. “I’m incredibly sensitive to materials that are touched daily.” When developing fabrics for the curtain collection, she vividly recalls brushing the wool against her cheek while at the mill, a practice that bemused the Italian artisans. “They must’ve thought I was a bit eccentric, but that’s how soft it needs to be,” she laughs.
