The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has recently announced the 12-member Indian team that will represent the country at the upcoming Shotgun World Cup in Nicosia, Cyprus. The tournament is scheduled to take place from May 3 to 12 and promises to be a thrilling event for shooting enthusiasts.
Leading the Indian trap squad at the Shotgun World Cup 2025 will be Tokyo Olympian Kynan Chenai. He will be supported by talented shooters Shardul Vihan and Bhowneesh Mendiratta in the men’s category. In the women’s trap events, the Indian contingent will be represented by Sabeera Haris, Kirti Gupta, and Rajeshwari Kumari.
Olympian Mairaj Ahmad Khan will be a key player for the Indian team in the skeet events. The 49-year-old shooter will be looking to deliver exceptional performances and make his mark on the international stage. Joining him in the men’s skeet category are Abhay Singh Sekhon and Rituraj Singh Bundela, while Yashasvi Rathore, Maheshwari Chauhan, and Parinaaz Dhaliwal will compete in the women’s skeet events.
In a previous announcement, India had revealed a 35-member squad for the ISSF Shooting World Cups in Peru and Argentina. Double bronze medalist Manu Bhaker was chosen to lead the team, while Paris Olympics medalists Swapnil Kusale and Sarabjot Singh missed out on selection.
The Shooting World Cup 2025 will feature events such as Air rifle, 50m rifle 3 positions, Air pistol, 25m rapid fire pistol, 25m sports pistol, trap, and skeet for both men and women. The Argentina leg of the competition is set to take place from April 1 to 11, followed by the Peru leg from April 13 to 22.
