A female worker for Greyhound was brutally attacked with a knife by a mentally distressed woman from New Jersey at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan early on Tuesday, as the morning rush began, according to law enforcement officials.
Shock and horror swept over the crowd as witnesses observed Angelle Thompson, 35, from Somerville, standing over her terrified 25-year-old target, holding a knife dripping with blood, as reported by sources and Port Authority officials.
Thompson, who may have had a prior altercation with the victim, now faces charges of attempted murder, assault, and illegal possession of a weapon.

âThe injured worker sustained wounds that are not life-threatening. She was taken to the hospital for further assessment,â stated a spokesperson for the authority via email.
âAuthorities are currently investigating the incident. Initial reports suggest that it erupted from a prior disagreement between the two women,â the spokesperson added.
The violent altercation occurred around 6:53 a.m. near one of the terminal’s ticket booths.

Multiple officers from the Port Authority quickly came to the aid of the injured worker, managing to staunch her bleeding before transporting her to Bellevue Hospital.
Meanwhile, Thompson was apprehended nearby and charged by law enforcement.
