A horrifying incident took place at an East Village subway station on Saturday night, as a subway rider was viciously stabbed in the neck, according to the NYPD.
The altercation began when a 44-year-old commuter engaged in a heated argument with an unidentified man on the northbound platform of the 2nd Avenue F-train station shortly before 9:15 p.m., police reported.
The situation quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, during which the assailant brandished a knife and proceeded to stab the 44-year-old victim in the right armpit and neck, causing severe injuries, as per the NYPD.
In the midst of the chaos, the victim managed to escape the station and sought aid at 1st Avenue and 1st Street, where he received immediate medical attention.
Thankfully, the victim was swiftly transported to Bellevue Hospital in a conscious state and is expected to pull through, according to the NYPD.
