An NYPD officer fired shots at a group of armed individuals who stole BMWs from an auto repair shop in Queens, nearly hitting the officers as they sped away. The incident took place at a shop on 33rd Avenue near Miller Street in Flushing early Friday morning.
The suspects stole the luxury cars and attempted to flee when the police caught them in the act. As they accelerated towards the officers, one of the cops opened fire in response. Fortunately, no one was injured by the gunfire, and the perpetrators managed to escape, driving north on Miller Street.
Following the incident, the officers were taken to a local hospital for evaluation due to experiencing ringing in their ears from the gunshots. Despite the dangerous situation, the authorities were able to apprehend two suspects and recover the four stolen BMWs allegedly used by the thieves.
At this time, charges have not been filed against the individuals involved in the theft and subsequent altercation with the police. The investigation into the incident is ongoing as law enforcement works to gather more information and evidence regarding the incident.
