Text messages between Rachel and a friend moments before her death showed no signs of suicidal thoughts, as they discussed outfits for a concert. A four-minute gap between the last text and a 911 call from Kyle’s phone helped establish the sequence of events.

A 360-degree scan of the house indicated that he could not have witnessed his wife stabbing herself from where he claimed to be sitting. Rachel Long, a pet groomer known for her love of animals and involvement in dog rescues, was remembered for her compassionate nature. Her death was ruled a homicide by the coroner’s office. Kyle Long is currently held on a $1.5 million bond, with no plea entered into the case as of Saturday.
