A recent incident at a New Year’s Eve house party in Clearcreek Township, Ohio, has resulted in a female shooter being convicted of attempted murder. Olivia Clendenin, the 29-year-old assailant, opened fire at the party after spotting her estranged husband and her boyfriend engaging in conversation. Despite her attempts to convince her ex-spouse to leave the gathering, he refused, prompting Clendenin to take drastic action.
Clendenin pulled out a .40 caliber handgun and fired eight shots, striking an innocent guest in the abdomen. The victim, who had simply been invited to the party, found himself caught in the crossfire of Clendenin’s violent outburst. The Warren County prosecutor, David Fornshell, expressed his dismay at the situation, stating that Clendenin’s actions have led to serious consequences.
Following the shooting, Clendenin attempted to flee the scene in her mother’s SUV but ended up crashing the vehicle. In addition to the attempted murder charge, she was also convicted of illegally discharging a firearm at a home and two assault charges. Clendenin’s smirking mugshot has garnered attention, reflecting the gravity of her actions and the impact they have had on those involved.
Despite starting 2025 as a free person, Clendenin now faces a lengthy prison sentence, with Fornshell emphasizing that she will spend the rest of 2026 and potentially the following decade behind bars. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of resorting to violence in personal disputes. Clendenin’s sentencing is pending, as authorities work to ensure justice is served in this troubling case.
