Journalist Olivia Nuzzi is in the process of writing a tell-all book that delves into her provocative digital correspondence with the married Secretary of Health, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
The 32-year-old Vanity Fair editor plans to reveal insights from her year-long exchanges with the 71-year-old Kennedy in a book slated for release later this year, as reported by Status reporter Oliver Darcy, who first uncovered the details of their connection last year.
The book is also expected to reflect on Nuzzi’s adventurous decade in political journalism, according to her sources.
The sexting incident escalated in October 2024, leading to Nuzzi’s exit from her position at New York Magazine and the end of her engagement with fellow political journalist Ryan Lizza.
Initially, New York Magazine placed Nuzzi on unpaid leave after receiving reports regarding her involvement with Kennedy. Eventually, she and the magazine “mutually agreed” to sever ties.
Subsequently, a significant leak of private messages illuminated a deeper bond than Nuzzi had previously indicated.
In a statement made last fall, Nuzzi emphasized that the affair was not physical.
“The relationship was never physical but should have been disclosed to prevent the perception of a conflict,” she stated. “I sincerely regret not doing so sooner and apologize to those I’ve let down, particularly my former colleagues at New York Magazine.”
RFK Jr. has minimized the relationship as well, stating via his spokesperson that his only meeting with Nuzzi was a single interview at her request.
Nearly a year after the scandal shook the media landscape, she joined Vanity Fair in September as the West Coast editor. Hired after her tumultuous departure, Nuzzi appears to be moving forward in her career.
