Anna ‘Supergirl’ Jaroonsak’s much-anticipated return to the global arena of ONE Championship ended in disappointment, yet the Thai fighter maintained her dignity.
The 22-year-old faced a TKO loss against Hong Kong’s Yu Yau Pui just 75 seconds into their women’s atomweight Muay Thai match at Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, March 13.
At ONE Fight Night 41: Sinsamut vs. Jarvis on Prime Video, Yu started aggressively, absorbing Supergirl’s initial knee strikes before landing a forceful left hook to the Thai’s midsection, abruptly concluding the bout.
Following the match, the Supergirl Jaroonsak Gym athlete unexpectedly announced her retirement from a promising career. Reflecting on the obstacles she faced, she expressed respect for her opponent.

“Yes, this fight, I fought my best, but I’ve been away from the ring for a long time, and I have an injury as well. I don’t want to make any excuses, but kudos to my opponent. She’s very tough. I’ve tried to come back here to be the Supergirl that everyone remembers,” she told Mitch Chilson via translator.
Despite the bittersweet outcome, the atomweight fighter, who began her ONE Championship journey at 16, departs with pride, having given her all in every match.

Yu Yau Pui’s win over Supergirl was a much-needed one
In contrast, Yu Yau Pui emerged from ONE Fight Night 41 with a crucial victory after enduring consecutive defeats in the world’s largest martial arts organization.
The Hong Kong fighter excelled early in her promotional career, securing five consecutive victories on ONE Friday Fights, earning a $100,000 contract and a place on the main roster.
She then improved her record to 6-0 during her American primetime debut by defeating Spain’s Lara Fernandez via unanimous decision at ONE Fight Night 20 in March 2024.
However, consecutive losses to Amy Pirnie and Martyna Dominczak put her in a challenging position before ONE Fight Night 41. With her win over ‘Supergirl,’ Yu can continue climbing the ranks of the atomweight Muay Thai division.
