Truck Crashes into RTD Holiday Train on New Year’s Eve

On New Year’s Eve, a truck collided with the Regional Transportation District’s (RTD) holiday train, the S Line, resulting in one person being injured, as reported by the agency.

The incident took place near 27th and Welton streets at 6:48 p.m., with Denver Police Department officers responding to the scene. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries reported.

According to RTD spokesperson Tara Broghammer, footage from the incident shows the truck striking the train. The driver of the truck is currently receiving medical treatment, while passengers on the train were unharmed.

Denver police have confirmed that there were no serious injuries sustained as a result of the crash.

RTD promptly shared an alert regarding the crash on social media just before 7 p.m.

Service on the S Line at stations such as 20th Street and Welton, 25th Street and Welton, 27th Street and Welton, and 30th Street and Downing was temporarily suspended but resumed by 7:30 p.m.
