However, a recent report suggests that this is about to change. An early build of upcoming Pixel software reveals an enhanced version of ‘Now Playing’ that includes album artwork and the ability to add songs to favorites with a single tap. This update aligns with Android 16’s new ‘Material 3 Expressive’ design, making the feature more engaging and user-friendly.

While the upgraded ‘Now Playing’ feature is currently only available on the experimental ‘Android Canary’ program, there is hope that it will eventually roll out to all Pixel users.
