Monkey D. Luffy and His Pirate Crew Set Sail for Movie Theaters

Exciting news for “One Piece” fans as Netflix announces the release of the first two episodes of Season 2 in select cinemas on March 10, alongside its streaming debut. The theatrical screenings will be held in the U.S., Canada, and Japan, with North American showings starting at 6 p.m. local time.

Tickets for the screenings will go on sale on Thursday, Feb. 26, at 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET. Participating theaters in the U.S. include AMC, Regal, Cinemark, Alamo, and Cineplex, with additional theaters in Canada and Japan.

The second season of “One Piece” follows Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji as they venture into the Grand Line, encountering strange islands, new allies, and formidable enemies in their quest for the world’s greatest treasure.

Netflix’s decision to bring “One Piece” to movie theaters follows the success of their previous venture with “Stranger Things.” The series finale of “Stranger Things” generated over $25 million at the box office, with more than 1.1 million ticket vouchers sold. AMC alone made $15 million from food and drink sales during the screenings.

The live-action adaptation of “One Piece” features a star-studded cast including Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero, Taz Skylar, and Charithra Chandran. Additional cast members include Anton David Jeftha, Brendan Sean Murray, Callum Kerr, and many more.

Matt Owens and Joe Tracz serve as co-showrunners, executive producers, and writers for “One Piece” Season 2, with Eiichiro Oda, Marty Adelstein, and Becky Clements among the other executive producers involved in the project.
