Fans of the iconic superhero parody won’t have to wait much longer.
Leading manga and anime platform Viz Media has announced that the eagerly awaited third season of “One-Punch Man” will debut on October 12 across various streaming platforms globally.
Viewers in the U.S. can watch the new season on Hulu, while Canadian fans can catch it on Disney+. Additionally, Netflix will offer the series to audiences in Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand. Those in Latin America and Oceania will also have the option to stream the premiere on Crunchyroll.
This announcement signifies a major multi-platform release for the worldwide favorite anime, which chronicles the escapades of Saitama, an absurdly powerful hero who can eliminate any foe with a solitary punch. Viz Media’s rights span theatrical releases, television, digital forms, home entertainment, licensing, and merchandise across North America, Latin America, and Oceania.
Season 3 will delve into the Monster Association arc, featuring S-class heroes who unite to rescue a captive taken by monsters affiliated with the nefarious organization. The narrative will also spotlight Garou, a “human monster” who regains consciousness in the Monster Association’s hideout after being ensnared during combat.
Adapted from the manga crafted by One and illustrated by Yusuke Murata, the series has achieved a stunning feat with over 35 million copies circulating. The original manga is serialized on Shueisha’s webcomic platform Tonari No Young Jump.
Makoto Furukawa will reprise his role as the lead character Saitama, while Kaito Ishikawa returns as Genos. The production is under the direction of Shinpei Nagai, with series composition by Tomohiro Suzuki, and animation provided by J.C. STAFF.
Seasons 1 and 2 are currently available to stream on Hulu in the U.S. and on Netflix in Canada and Latin America. Digital purchases can be made through platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Google TV, and Fandango at Home.
The anime originally premiered in October 2015, receiving widespread praise for its clever critique of superhero clichés combined with impressive action sequences. The second season followed in 2019.
