At a special event in Gothenburg, Sweden, Oppo announced that its successful partnership with Hasselblad will continue, although the duration of the collaboration remains uncertain. Over the past four years, the collaboration between Oppo and Hasselblad has led to the development of the Find X8 series phones, which are renowned for their exceptional camera capabilities. The color tuning and lens simulations provided by Hasselblad have significantly contributed to making the Find X8 series some of the best camera phones in the market.

Pete Lau, Chief Product Officer at Oppo, expressed his enthusiasm for the ongoing partnership, stating, “With the extension of our collaboration, we will push the boundaries of mobile imaging even further.” The expertise of Hasselblad, a company with a rich history dating back to 1841 and known for its advanced and high-end cameras, brings a level of professionalism and innovation to Oppo’s mobile imaging technology.

The partnership between Oppo and Hasselblad has already resulted in the integration of specialist photo modes, such as the XPAN 65:24 panoramic format, and bokeh simulations that replicate the characteristics of classic Hasselblad lenses. This collaboration has not only enhanced the camera capabilities of Oppo’s flagship phones but has also influenced their design aesthetics.

Looking ahead, Oppo and Hasselblad are currently working on a next-generation imaging system that aims to set a new standard for quality and user experience in mobile imaging. While details about this upcoming technology are scarce, Oppo has promised to reveal more information later this year. It is anticipated that the future Find X9 series will showcase the advancements resulting from this collaboration, sparking excitement among mobile photography enthusiasts.
