An adolescent in Oregon who was fixated on the crime series “Dexter” has been found guilty of strangling and raping a 13-year-old girl after enticing her into the woods.
Milana Li was discovered deceased in a creek in Washington County, Ore. on May 10, 2022, as per the Beaverton Police Department.
Li’s mother had reported her daughter missing the previous day, initiating an extensive search. She was found not far from her residence and school, as reported by The Oregonian.
After her death was classified as a homicide, it was revealed through cell phone records and security footage that she was last seen with 16-year-old Daniel Gore.
Gore was apprehended the same day Li’s body was found at a local library after a brief pursuit, mentioned in The Oregonian. Authorities located Gore’s tent near Li’s body, where he had written about his affinity for violence.
Gore compared himself to the fictional character Dexter from the TV show, and his attempts to fabricate an alibi failed. He was found guilty of first-degree murder, rape, and sexual abuse after a quick trial.
Gore, now 18, will serve a minimum of 30 years in prison with the possibility of parole. His sentencing is scheduled for December 2.
